DivX-MooVId (MooVId OpenDivX Special Edition) documentation
Description:
This is a special version of MooVId, which was released to demonstrate the
capabilities of the open DivX video compression technology. To use it you'll
need one of the codec binary files (either WarpOS or 68k version) available at
www.projectmayo.com. MooVId requires the codec to be present in your LIBS:
directory before you start it.
Note that this special version of MooVId will only work with OpenDivX AVIs,
support for any other codecs has been removed. The purpose of this program is
to let Amiga users test the new OpenDivX codec for free.
Please note, how the OpenDivX standard is !NOT! compatible with the old
DivX ;-) standard.
Installation:
To install this special version, please double-click on the
Install-DivX-MooVId icon, which will install the required font and library
files in your system. Note that the DivX codec is not part of the MooVId
distribution, you must download it from the OpenDivX homepage at
www.projectmayo.com and copy the codec into your LIBS: manually.
The DivX-MooVId player can be copied anywhere you like, we recommend placing
it in the Sys:Utilities drawer for convenience.
Requirements:
- An Amiga equipped with an 020+ processor (A PowerPC processor is highly
recommended!)
- For the PowerPC version of the codec WarpOS must be installed.
Speed:
About 15-20FPS on PPC systems w. 352x288 stream, but this demo is somewhat
slower, because some PPC dithers (AGA storm, PPC YUV->RGB stuff) removed from
this release. For the full speed version we recommend to use (register) MooVId.
Usage:
Double-click on the DivX-MooVId icon and select the files you want to play.
Alternatively MooVId can be started from the command line.
Configuration:
MooVId can be configured to best suit your system. MooVId can be configured by
either adjusting its icon's tooltypes or specifying command line arguments.
Here's a description of some of the options:
DITHER PIP - If you have a video-layer (Picture-In-Picture) capable gfx card,
then enable this option.
NOSKIP - Disables frame-skipping
LOOP - Enables looping
FPS=<number> - Set desired framerate
WINDOWPLAY - Enable playback in a window, rather than using fullscreen
NOGUI - Disable control panel
AUTOPLAY - start playing video automatically at startup
